Access Platforms Steal The Show At Uk Plant Show 15/04/2008
At the UK plant show aerial access platforms were the biggest exhibitors on display with only a few cranes and excavators filling out the rest. With a whole host of exhibitors showcasing their access platforms, the variety was unbeatable. The once a year UK plant show is held in Milton Keynes and last months show was a low one for crane manufacturers who only feel the need to exhibit their latest cranes once every two years. Some of this years exhibitors were Grove platforms, Genie access platforms, Niftylift, Manitou, Maxlift, Priestman and Skyking.

Grove Access Platforms Fitted To Crane Provide Increased Safety 12/04/2008
Grove platforms have been fitted to the sides of a Grove crane to provide increased accessibility and safety. The platforms, called Grove GMK-5220 All-Terrain Crane Access System are added to both sides of a crane superstructure which provides better access to the crane operator cab and crane engine module. The Grove platform system means the platforms are stowed in a vertical position when the crane is being moved or transported to another site, or the crane or platforms are no longer in use. Crane Customised With Grove Platforms 09/04/2008
A Grove crane has been customized with access platforms to further improve its productivity and use. The mobile crane, a Grove 5220 used in a mining site on the western coast of Cape York in Queensland has been adapted into the perfect crane for Rio Tinto Aluminium. The 220 ton all-terrain crane was customized with Grove access platforms by Manitowoc Crane Group Australia. According Anthony Lazenby of the US company Manitowoc, the unique adaptations are mostly related to the access and egress part of the machine as well as working at height issues.
